“I studied abroad in Puebla, Mexico during the spring semester of 2009. At the Universidad de las Americas I took classes in history, literature, and grammar, but I learned not only about things in the classroom, but also experienced a culture much different that what I am accustomed to. During my study abroad experience I not only learned about Mexico and gained an appreciation for its culture, but I also gained respect for the United States. I would suggest a study abroad experience in Mexico to any of Oklahoma State's students.” |
Kyle Mendenhall, (Spanish Immersion and Exchange student at UDLAP 2008)

“I didn’t know any Spanish when I arrived to Puebla for a six week Summer Spanish Program. I immediately found myself among an incredible group of friends during that time. At the end of the summer, I knew I had to find a way back and ended up doing a year-long study abroad at the university. While I’m now back in the US, I continually question myself as to how I can go back and live in Mexico.” |

"Estudié en México primero por dos meses en Puebla en la UPAEP y luego por seis meses en Toluca en la UAEM. Todo el tiempo que estuve ahí hice cosas diferentes, conocí muchos lugares interesantes y probé comida que era muy rara para mí. Viajé por casi todos los regiones de Mexico, me encantan las montañas pero las playas son muy padres también. Si tuviera la oportunidad de regresar ¡lo haría en dos segundos! México es un país muy diverso con gente que son como de la familia y eso me late mucho." |
Carrie Crow, (Intensive Spanish at UDLAP, Summer 2007)
M.S. International Studies class of 2007.

The "build-your-own" type of program available at the UDLA campus was perfect. Our Spanish professor took a personal interest in us, inviting us to her home for dinner and taking us on field trips throughout our six-week stay. An on-campus organization connected us with a start-up company where we developed a marketing campaign while learning about Mexican business practices. I'll always have fond memories of this culturally rich region in Mexico. I still miss the tacos arabes, peacocks and lush gardens around the UDLA campus! |
